AAF Abilene May club meeting - Wednesday, May 7 at
Rosas Café on Judge Ely

IT'S REALLY IS ABOUT LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION: We are meeting at Rosas Café on Judge Ely.

IT'S REALLY IS ABOUT DATE, DATE, DATE: We are meeting on Wednesday, May 7.

WHY THE CHANGE? The country club is not finished with their remodel, Fairway Oaks does not have a room available on Tuesday or Thursday of that week, and the students will be gone on the second week of May.

Student PresentationPlease accept our invitation to see our student team present the advertising campaign they gave at the National Student Advertising Competition in Dallas for the District 10 convention. This is the second year for our team to compete and they moved up in the rankings this year. Their client was AOL and I think you will enjoy their campaign and perhaps learn something useful.

"Break Through and Make Connections" During AAF's National Conference 2008; Over 25 Top Speakers Already Confirmed!

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The American Advertising Federation (AAF) proudly announces AAF National Conference 2008—Breaking Through, Making the Connection. This year, through advertising forums and a lineup of top advertising leaders, the AAF will present the latest strategies and tactics from industry innovators on breaking through to consumers and making enduring impressions and lasting connections. The conference is structured to maximize attendee time, as well as provide ample social and professional networking opportunities. The AAF National Conference 2008 will take place June 8–10 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta.

The two cornerstone events of the AAF National Conference 2008, the Worldwide ADDY® Awards and the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC), promise to be as thrilling as ever. The ADDYs are the world's largest and arguably toughest advertising awards competition and will close the AAF National Conference 2008 on Tuesday night, June 10. World-class judges, top agency talent and clients will celebrate creative excellence from the smallest and largest agencies.

For more than 30 years, the NSAC has supplied the industry with many of its current leaders. Each year, the competition provides more than 3,000 college students with real-world experience by requiring a strategic advertising/marketing/media campaign for a corporate sponsor. This year, 18 teams of student finalists will present their campaigns to a panel of AOL advertising executives. In addition, recruiters will have the opportunity to spend quality time with these bright future leaders of the industry at the NSAC Recruiters Expo.

New this year, the NSAC Recruiters Expo will offer companies the opportunity to meet and explore career opportunities with NSAC finalists. "This is an exciting addition to the AAF National Conference and another way that the AAF continues to promote future advertising talent to industry executives," said Wally Snyder, AAF president and CEO. "These students have been judged to be the best by the country's top advertising executives in their district competitions, and the expo presents a prime opportunity for companies to meet with the top talent and the future of the advertising industry." The NSAC Recruiters Expo will take place on Monday, June 9.

The topics for this year's conference advertising forums include corporate profit and social responsibility, redefining agency models, integrated media and content, legislative, regulatory and legal issues, sports marketing and successful marketing tactics.
